After I built the PC for my family, it was going to be in a different room but I still wanted to be able to use it for secondary tasks. I needed to have full mouse and keyboard control, as well as the ability to turn the computer on and off remotely. The common solution for this is a motherboard with an IPMI sub board. This is a server grade feature and only comes on motherboards $1000+, or you can make your own using a Raspberry Pi module.Â
This project was completed in May 2023.
This project included my first attempt at soldering as I needed to split the Power and Data wires of a USB cable.
The Raspberry Pi is accompanied by an HDMI output module, and ATX control module.
I modified a Raspberry Pi case in CAD software to house the completed board.
